MILLWRIGHTs WITH AGRICULTURE EXPERIENCE
PGS Equipment Ltd. is currently looking to hire a Millwright technician for our facility in Taber, AB as well as farm trips in Alberta and Saskatchewan. We supply row crop farmers with the equipment and systems to plant, feed, protect, harvest, store, and process crops like potatoes, carrots, onions, beans, garlic, and other specialty crops. Key Responsibilities:
- Assembly of equipment in the shop and field
- Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and routine maintenance of various farm machinery and equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Installation and retrofitting of complex production equipment; fabricating and welding as required.
- Use a lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to match the appropriate specifications.
- Align machines and equipment during installation, using hoists, jacks, and other tools
- Perform work in a safe manner by themselves and with others
- Assist with other duties as required
Requirements:
- Must be a dependable and self-motivated team player with the ability to communicate effectively, negotiate, and conflict resolution.
- Parts and machinery knowledge, preferably row crop equipment
- Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
- You are comfortable working at heights, dusty environments, heat/cold, indoors/outdoors, and confined spaces
- Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Work both as a member of a team and individually with minimal supervision
- Always maintain proper and safe working conditions
- Effectively work in a fast-paced environment, able to work well under pressure and shifting priorities
- Strong computer and technology skills are a must
- Valid driver’s license and clean driver abstract as well as forklift certificate
